Located in East Africa, Rwanda is part of the African Great Lakes Region. It is one of the smallest countries on the African continent and has almost 12 million inhabitants. Often referred to as the ‘Land of a thousand hills’ its hilly terrain creates an ethereal landscape unlike any other.
Nyungwe rainforest is Africa’s largest protected mountain forest and home to – among others – chimpanzees and 250 bird species in all. Official languages are Kinyarwanda, French and English.
